Serious Inbound Marketing Requires Commitment!

by blogmistress on September 6, 2011

Serious inbound marketing requires a serious commitment of time or money or both. You can’t do it half way and expect significant results.

Some have suggested that you need to spend 50-70 hours per month on your inbound marketing to get real growth (i.e. 300-600% growth in traffic and leads over 6-12 months). To obtain explosive growth (i.e. 800-1,000% growth in traffic and leads over a 3-6 month period), you need to spend 120+ hours per month on inbound marketing. At $100 per hour, this translates into spending between $5,000 and $12,000 or more per month.

As you can see, whether it’s time or money, it requires a real commitment for most small businesses to be serious about inbound marketing. Many small businesses will split inbound marketing duties between in-house and outsourcing. This way they can concentrate on the duties they are efficient at and outsource the others, saving them time and money.

What is your commitment? Do you do your own inbound marketing or outsource it or combine the two? How many hours do you spend each month? Let us know what you are doing to make Inbound Marketing work for you.
